CimaLac

On the foothills of the 2439 meter high Cima Lac mountain in Italy's Alpine province Trentino, the story of De Caldes begins.

The Palazzo

At the edge of the ancient village of Terzolàs, Palazzo Malanotti - also called La Torraccia - still stands, its stone walls shaped by centuries of ambition. It was here, in the 14th century, that the Malanotti De Caldes family first rose to prominence, trading not just in fine wool but in ideas and refinement.

As Europe turned baroque, the family expanded their vision. North of Venice, they founded Borgo Malanotte, an entire village built on craft, culture, and community.

Two hundred and fifty souls called this Borgo home, their lives intertwined with the rhythmic song of spinning wheels and looms. Their vineyards revived ancient Raboso grapes, yielding a wine so distinct it earned Italy’s top classification: Piave Malanotte DOCG.
