The mystery of the Middle Ages, the enlightenment of the Renaissance, and the playfulness of the Baroque age have been collected in the experiences and stories of the Malanotti De Caldes.

This proud tradition is our inspiration for an evolving journey of creation, brought to life in rugs which are landscapes of stories, handcrafted in the finest wools.

Design

With Mario Gagliardi, award-winning designer and grandson of Eugenie Malanotti De Caldes, this ancient current finds its contemporary expression.

The Ateliers

Our rugs are meticulously created and finished by hand in our Ateliers in India. With either handspun Himalaya wool, New Zealand wool or pure Cotton, each thread is colored by hand, handwoven or handtufted, then washed and carved by our master artisans. Intricate material inlays and masterful carving complete our creations with intriguing patterns, luster and structure.

Here, there are no assembly lines, only masters in ateliers. De Caldes rugs are exlusively created by hand in strictly limited editions.

Each De Caldes rug emerges from a deeper understanding: that true luxury lies in the marriage of tradition and contemporary relevance.

Behind each piece stand the artisans, keepers of this long memory. Their hands know what machines cannot: the feel of true materials, and the rhythm of making that turns thread into story. The unicorn still watches to remind us: when vision meets tradition, something lasting is made.
